How we select and describe games

Our approach to game selection, publisher sources, practical guides and browser checks, including what Gamezesty's catalog labels do and do not mean.

What belongs in the playable library

The playable library uses publisher-provided embeds and creator-hosted browser games. A listed game must have a supported on-site player URL. If a title only offers an external launch, it is not included in the playable catalog. Existing paused pages explain the limitation and are excluded from search indexing and the sitemap.

Game availability can change after publication. A successful source request is a connectivity check, not proof that a game works through every level or on every device.

Where descriptions and guides come from

Basic catalog descriptions and instructions originate from publisher metadata. Selected game pages also contain rewritten how-to guidance and practical questions based on official game pages, creator documentation and published rules.

The dated practical notes and play guides link to their research sources. Their review date means those sources were reviewed on that date; it is not a release date for the game. Research-only notes are labeled “Publisher / creator research.” Suggestions are presented as suggestions, not verified high-score strategies.

How selections and labels work

Play guides use specific features such as shared-device controls, daily puzzle formats or physics-based goals. Each guide lists its inclusion criteria and explains each game's fit. A game's broad catalog category may differ from the narrower theme of a guide.

“Pick” and “Editor's picks” are editorial selections, not player ratings. “Popular” identifies selections backed by a linked publisher popularity source, not a Gamezesty-wide play-count ranking. “New” and “Fresh arrivals” refer to catalog or publisher-feed arrivals, not a promise that a game has just been released. “Verified catalog” refers to catalog source and embed checks, not a guarantee of gameplay quality.

What browser checks can tell us

Browser checks can inspect the page layout, the player launch flow and controls such as fullscreen. When a game is manually sampled, that observation applies only to the tested session and environment. Automated page or URL checks and publisher research are not counted as full playthroughs.

We do not invent review scores, player counts or claims that every device is supported. Publisher advertising, game progress and third-party availability remain outside the site's direct control.

When something changes

If a source or game behavior conflicts with a description, the affected notes need to be checked against the current game and publisher information. Content updates should correct the specific claim and update its review date only when reviewed; adding games elsewhere in the catalog does not make older notes newly reviewed.
