Mahjong Titans

Mahjong Titans is a tile-removal puzzle in which matching symbols are only part of the challenge. A tile must also be free: nothing can cover it, and at least one of its horizontal sides must be open. Clearing a pair exposes new choices in the stack, so the order of removal matters. Pick it when you want a calm visual puzzle that rewards looking beneath the obvious match and considering which pair will open the board most effectively.

Mahjong Titans: useful things to know

A mahjong-solitaire layout cleared by pairing identical tiles that are both free to use.

Why are two matching pictures not always a valid pair?

The rule requires two identical free tiles, not merely two visible matching pictures. Check that both tiles are available for selection before trying to combine them.

How should I choose between several available mahjong pairs?

Compare what each pair's removal would make available next. Since the goal is to remove every tile, a pair that opens access to more of the layout is often a better candidate than one that changes very little.
